    ASUS PTGD1-LA CPU Upgrade

    Hello friends,

My Motherboard which is ASUS PTGD1-LA just broken. Now gonna purchase a new one...i already did minor upgrades like RAM ( 512mb to 2GB ), and PSU. Now as I'm waiting for my new board, I was wondering if i can upgrade my CPU to one of the new Intel Core Duo processors.I know my motherboard can support Intel Pentium 4 processor up to 3.6 GHz.Just curious is there any thing i need to know about CPU upgrading? can I jus buy a core duo and replace the P4 chip?

    thanks for reading me guys..!!!

No dude your chip set is not compatible with it so it might ruin the normal conditions on your computer and won't work and all fo your work will become a shoddy work so better avoid this foolish move .According to the specification sheets, the only CPUs that will work on that motherboard are Pentium-4s.It uses the 915G chipset, which only supports P4s.
