    CPU Overheating

So I finally got my new pc built and it keeps shutting off after a minute or two of being turned on. I am trying to boot from the disk with the drivers for my motherboard and it shuts off. I go into the BIOS and check the PC Health status and checked the CPU temp. It says its running at like 100C (200 something Fahrenheit) which is absurd especially after only a min or two. Could there be a problem with the CPU? I double checked the heat sink and fan to make sure everything was probably in place and I'm still having the problem. Its a Intel Pentium 4 3.0ghz processor on the NVIDIA 750i FTW motherboard. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated on what I should do.

    Re: CPU Overheating

I think the issue is with the CPU. The intel Processor is designed in such that if it passes more than the temperature limit it shut down itself to prevent damage to the CPU. Have you tried to put a thermal paste (heat sink) properly all over the processor. If yes then try to change your power supply unit. Just for a temporary purpose arrange the same ATX model power supply an and check out. I am listing some causes of this problem :
    1. Damage Powersupply
    2. Bad heatsink
    3. Damage CPU Fan
    4. Bad motherboard
    6. Corrupt Bios.
