Your motherboard does not support DDR3 RAM. To do this you need a new board with Socket AM3, and also a new CPU, Phenom aktullen II for socket AM3.
As far as I know there is no board, both DDR2, and DDR3 would support. I am also not clear why you want DDR3 stuck. The current latencies are not faster, even more slowly than DDR2, and thus the extra cost not even worth the approach.
Only when you look at a new system, respectively, it makes sense or is it inevitable, in 1366/AM3 socket processors.
That is not quite correct. AM3 processors running with DDR2 RAM AM2/AM2 + motherboards. You should only previously see if the processor from the corresponding board officially supports. Most manufacturers have a lot of blanks corresponding BIOS updates for Phenom II provided.
Just as info.
Otherwise you're right, it does at the moment only limited sense of DDR3 RAM to go.
then I will probably get DDR2 thanks for the info
