My Computer is Rebooting itself, Help!

    Hey Guys,

Im having a slight problem with my computer. My computer tends too... "restart"
by itself now. I have no idea why. I took my computer into FutureShop for a diagnostic and they said that my hard drive " failed " and they said I had to re install the operating system. So I got my friend to install a new hard drive and he also re installed the operating system. Too add to that, I got a new power supply also cause my computer continously kept on turning on and off. Now, for some stupid reason, my computer is now "rebooting" itself everytime im try to install software. For example: I'm re-installing "Real Ac'97 Audio " on my computer. When it gets to the stage " Installing Ac97/Updating Driver " Or some shit, it reboots itself. After I reboot my computer, I get this problem pop up thing. The error signature is:

    BCCode : 1000007e

    BCP1 : C0000005

    BCP2 : F712C46D

    BCP3 : F7C7AA74

    BCP4 : F7C7A770

    OSVer : 5_1_2600

    SP : 3_0

    Product : 256_1

To be honest, i havent been able to use my computer for 3 weeks or so now, and it's pissing me off. I was wondering if anyone had any idea on what's going on with my computer and what I can do?

    Thank you,
    -Jason.

It might happen that they would be some hardware conflicts when you are trying to install driver and thats why you PC might get reboot each and every time. For more details Check this links also

In order to stop your computer from re-booting itself when there is an error. Follow the below procedure mention.

Just Right Click on My Computer and then select Properties, and then go to the Advanced Tab. Then under Startup and recovery click on Settings and then just uncheck the box which says automatically restart. Then Click on Apply then finally click on Ok tab. Afterwards reboot your system, now your computer will only reboot if there is any error on your system. Now you will able to receive an error message(BSOD) telling you what actually caused the problem. Look carefully for any drivers being identified in the stop message.

Haha I agree with you Clark. It seems to me that something has been lerking around and funky-ing up around my motherboard and hardware. Recently I just re-installed the operating system. But what do you suppose I do about it? Since I can't re-install the driver...
*note* 1Hour ago, my comp rebooted itself when i tried to reinstall my sound driver. The result, i got the blue error screen. T_T" I dont remember exactly what it said, but i know it was bad xD.
    Thoughts?

Re: My Computer is Rebooting itself, Help!

If you are not equipped to debug this problem, you should use some basic troubleshooting techniques.

    1. Make sure you have enough disk space.
    2. If a driver is identified in the bug check message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates.
    3. Try changing video adapters.
    4. Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates.
    5. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.

If you plan to debug this problem, you might find it difficult to obtain a stack trace. Parameter 2 (the exception address) should identify the driver or function that caused this problem.
