I have a computer, a P4-2400 with Asus P4PE Mobo. I have three memory slots. For FSB 533 DDR PC2100 . Currently, the slot 1 & 2 are occupied by two 512Mb modules. So I 1Gb. Ram. . The slot 3 should not be employed in the case of use of 2 modules, as specified in the manual. . The 3 slot is free and everything works OK for 5 years. So I want to go to 2Gb. RAM. I bought a memory module 1GB, PC2100.
According to my manual, it says this appears to be about the disposal of modules:
If one wants to use three modules of memory as is currently the case.
DDR DIMM 1 row 1 & 2 (the left): SS / DS (Double or Single sided DIMM)
DDR DIMM 2 row 3 & 4 (the center): SS
3 DDR DIMM row 5 & 6 (the right): SS
So I put the 1GB module. in slot 1 and the other two 512Mb modules. in slots 2 & 3. If I turn on the computer, it will not boot. Even the video card does not. Where is my problem, and therefore the solution?
Thank you
