Are you sure its a motherboard problem? If so, motherboards can be repaired but there are not many people who can do this. As this is a core level hardware task, it is not known to everyone. Computer vendors generally advice to go for a new motherboard if they identify any fault in it. They will tell generally that the motherboard cannot be repaired, but they can be at many instances. This has happened to me and I got my motherboard repaired from a professional computer hardware engineer. But I am located in Mumbai so I cant help you much. You'll have to look for such engineer at your location.

Is that new motherboard working properly now? Otherwise I doubt there can also be the SMPS problem.

I dont know about Winfast motherboards. Its true that there is no comparison of Gigabyte and Asus motherboards.

As your new motherboard is working fine, this strongly indicates that there is some problem in your old Asus motherboard. Motherboards are reparable but there are very less computer shops that do this chip level repairing.

Where does this comes? Anyways, you have to search around such workshops or an hardware engg. where motherboard repairing is done, if you really want your Asus back.
