NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 graphic card overheating

Hi, i am having NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 graphic card but the thing is like in recent times my monitor has been putting itself to sleep mode in the middle of more difficult tasks such as playing full screen games and infrequently while loading numerous YouTube videos at the same time. Thus after such huge research on internet I came to know that there is some problem with the GPU I have installed. Thus I have just downloaded GPU-Z to check the temperature and it is measure to be almost above 70%. So I am not sure but still I am wondering as, is this happening because of this temperature? Any suggestion for resolving this will be appreciated.

I was also having the same problem with the machine once but that was just because of the power settings that i have done for the monitor, but nothing regarding the overheating. Thus i would like to recommend you that you should make sure whether the power settings that you have done in your machine is correct or not.

In short if suppose you are not getting what you have to do, at that time you should simply increase the monitor Idle time and so that it just don’t change the mode frequently and see whether you are getting the same problem or not.

As far as overheating is concern you should make sure whether the drivers that you have installed for the machine is working perfectly or not. And if suppose you are not getting anything over here then you should try to reinstall the same once. And after that if possible you should also look after for the BIOS installed in the machine. because the one that you have installed might not be compatible with the GPU you have. In fact you should make sure whether the version that you have installed is the most recent one or not. And if you found it older then you can simply visit the motherboard manufacturer’s official website and can download those drivers as well as BIOS.

I would like to recommend you that you should Clean the card thoroughly, as i have done the same thing and without any problems with temperature around 70 degrees i can run the machine.

see as far as overheating is concern the major things that could be cause this is such as,

• Clogged fan
  
  
• Broken fan
  
  
• Overclocking
  
  
• Faulty Drivers
  
  
• Inefficient Airflow

Just lookout for the above symptoms and then go ahead with the solution regarding the same.

I think it would be better if you simply visit the service center and test the whole hardware that you have. Because it might be possible as there could be some problem with the hardware that you were having, thus the only thing that you can do over here is to test them for better understanding what is the actual problem. As you have mentioned about the monitor’s sleep mode, so let me tell you like overheating cannot do that, but due to that you can have many other problems even with other hardware’s as well and if would be better if you get the solution as soon as possible.

ok this sw will tell you if your gpu fan is running at 100%

a lot of gpu cards run the fan at 60 % defult

if you turn the fan up to 100% you will take 10 c off your temp

and you will hear the fan louder

BUT BE CARFULL WITH THIS SW IT IS A POWERFULL OVERCLOCK SW SO DONT MESS WITH IT ,,,ONLY ADJUST THE FAN SPEED ,,,,,
