Unable to use Intel GMA 950 with Mac OS X Lion

Hi guys I pretty new to this things. After searching the whole sea I found that Intel GMA950 which I have is working with the OS X Lion. Great to have the things like this. But the fact is that I don’t have QE or CI. And I am using a notebook not a desktop. I have an Intel GMA 950 graphics card. I have tried to add my intel GMA 950 graphics card to my DSDT with DSDTSE. But the things I get is that GMA950's only is only for the Desktop viewer. Can someone advice me for it. Quick suggestions are helpful.

I have questions about it. Are u sure that your Intel works with the operating system Lion. Because I have a Dell Latitude which even have Intel GMA 950.It even has the QE/CI. Its works smoothly it. I could suggest you that it’s because of the bit drivers which your desktop doesn’t have. I am talking about the bit. Your desktop has 64-bit drivers and my laptop has the 32-bit with QE/CI supports. Try to install on your laptop if possible.

Hi guys. I even tried on my laptop. I have a Dell latitude D620 laptop which unfortunately works for me. I tried everything which seems to be possible for me. I don’t know am I on the right way or not? Can you tell me the files versions you are currently using. They have been listed below. Which file you are using for the AppleIntelGMA950.kext,I have a 1.6.26.and for the AppleIntelGMA950GLDriver.bundle, I have a versions 1.6.26,for AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext I have 1.4.20. If possible try do give your specifications about your laptop. Thank you.

I could only suggest you that the operating system which you are planning to install only supports 64-bits system. And The Intel GMA 950 drivers which are you planning has the 32-bits. So,isn’t a simple mathematics that 64-bits drivers doesn’t support the 32-bits drivers. Might this will works for you. But I am agreeing with that you can use in your laptops but carefully .Because the laptops are hardly to predict.

I am completely disagreeing with your suggestions that lion supports 32 bit processor. In fact, Lion doesn’t support 32 bit processor, it support 32 bit kernel. Many Macs that even supported. They even required the 32-bits kernel as the EFI doesn't support the 64 bit kernel.Although I am Agree that the Mac books support the GMA 950 with a Core 2 Duo processors. They even work in lion operations system

I would recommended you to go for the chameleon r1140 that has the same features that the Intel 950 graphics card have since the only criteria is that you should make graphics enabler ‘yes’. But the things which makes the difference is that Booting the os in 64bit gives a error something like match 0 , while booting in 32-bits gives you a very low brightness. Since I am trying to find the best way the things can be done. Might this will help you out.

I would suggest you try with the hex editing. I even tried with the thing. But I would recommened that the QE/CI should be enable for that with a BootLoader and it is also suggestfull that there should nat be any and no dsdt edits, no efi string and no patched kexts on lion GM.Try for it this will really help you out.Thank you
