My GTX 480 SLI and a GTX 280 as PhysX unable to work due to drivers

Hey guys, I have a very interesting topic. I think it's the driver's side, but I have a plant with an [email protected] i7 965 and 2 GTX 480's @ 860/1720/4120 and a GTX 280 on a PhysX card. Well, my score drops tremendously Physics in 3D Mark Vantage PhysX when choosing to run out of the GTX 280. Compared with what the GTX 480. What about this? I have heard and seen many posts saying the same thing and everyone saying that its software and correlated drivers and needs to be set by Nvidia. Do you know about this? Please fix it.

I could be mistaken, but this makes common sense if I understand the part. I haven’t run 3D Mark Vantage prior to, but not the PhysX test a split test of the graphics? The only Geforce GTX 480 should score much superior as a PhysX processor on a particular GeForce GTX 280 what we're seeing. The idea behind using the Geforce GTX 280 as a dedicated PhysX processor in a real game is to be released leading 3D graphics processor to perform tasks associated to 3D graphics. PhysX on a job only the graphics is not strained. If you be to play a game that has superior quality graphics and PhysX support, you should observe better framerates with a GeForce GTX 280 assigned as a committed PhysX processor if you do not have this card in your system. What is your experience with today's games?

ManuelG is 100% accurate. Your cards are performing precisely as they are supposed to in Vantage. Compare the Vantage PhysX link in my signature. Your score is top because my 480 is still at 825/1650/2000. Furthermore, if only you are using the PhysX 280 for the MS driver will be fine. It's not like you need fancy graphics or retouching SLI support in this letter, right? If you try to install an nVidia driver in it, you can install in the 480s, well, do not want.

What driver version shown in the device manager for the 280? I guess you can install a newer version if necessary, but only if you have the latest PhysX package and it is working now. Why fix it if it is not broke? Think that Nvidia is working on drivers that will integrate all the cards instead of separate drivers for the 400 series. If it was me I'd probably wait for them. Well it’s your choice what you want to do.

I can get similar improvements. In fact, Batman runs game is 17% faster in double GTX280s third PhysX 280 for what he does in Triple GTX280s PhysX running on the primary. It's definitely better to have a dedicated PhysX card. This is just for this game yet. Others do not use PhysX largely sufficient to require it. Metro 2033 could be a second example, however. Have on the shelf, but have not yet begun.
