Need information about Video card for Power Mac G5 with ADC connector

On my birthday my father and mother have presented me Power Mac G5 as a gift. Really it has very good configuration. I am using Macintosh operating system on it. Everything is good. But I don’t know about it more because I am beginner. It‘s enable with a NVIDIA GeForce 6600 256MB VRAM, (PCI-Express) Video Card in it. But recently I have purchased an ATI RADEON 9800XT 256MB (DVI/ADC) AGP 8X VIDEO CARD. So my problem is that will it work with the early 2005 PwrMac G5?
Therefore I want information about it. Please tell me as soon as possible.

I am telling you about my experience with power Mac G5. I just recently purchased a power Mac G5 with an original PCI-E card. It had a DVI and also an ADC connector on card. But I want to get another one which is similar to it for my other one that in its place has only 2 DVI. But I was unlucky for finding any other card with ADC connector and also PCI_E connector. But I am trying to get it. And also I am searching on Google about it. I will give you genuine answer.

Well, I want to tell you I have also purchase Power Mac G5 which is made by apple. I use DVI to ADC adaptor for solving this problem. I go on eBay everyday for find the solution. As I know the DVI connector enable with the graphic card, and a fly lead which goes to the direct power transformer. It shows ADC lead connector in another lead. I saw currently some example on eBay UK. I think it will help to you. So I suggest you go on eBay then fallow the steps “computing then apple/Macintosh for ADC”. You can get more information with this.

Hi, you have ADC on the monitor, the card has 2XDualDVI connection. When using your elderly monitor: DVI and then ADC adaptor is necessary, when getting of the AL monitors: Plug and Play. You structured the graphics card necessary for the 30". No other monitor requires it. This is the just DualDVI (puzzling term because it is plug) monitor. The remaining uses normal DVI. So it sounds similar to you did some overload if you will not about to order of those day.

I would like to tell you about the GF6800’s connector which I used. The Gforce6800 connector can be configured without any difficulty with help of monitor options during machine configuration at apple. And also you know for 20’’ and 23’’ screens. They are added ADC/DVI connector. But 30’’ screen don’t have because they utilize the usual DVI connection. Choose 30’’ screen for both monitors and see their’s slots no ADC/DVI connector. And you will see GF6800 has dual DVI connector. I hope you will satisfy with my reply.

Re: Need information about Video card for Power Mac G5 with ADC connector

The Power Mac G5 motherboard has an ADC connection. I think the 6800 actually uses this (this is a specially designed Mac card, so buying a PC card and the ROM simply does not match the Mac 6800 Ultra DDL, the PC is no equivalent for non- Quadra) ADC connector for power, someone who knows better. However, the 6800 uses two individual Dual Link DVI, so you do not have a physical port to directly connect two ADC. You have to buy the ADC to DVI connector with power supply (~ $ 100) to power the monitor and the USB hub. If you purchased a new monitor (aluminum design), the ADC adapter is closer to ~ $ 20 because the power supply is included with the monitor. In GeForce 6800 no ADC connection required. And in G5 motherboard ADC is required.
