HELP 9800m gtx bios flash!

I want to focus on best performance during games at default settings and for this I am trying to overclock it. Another thing that I want is when I am idle in 2d mode I don't want the gpu to use power to lower temps; however it should not lower where aero can't work. At present my system runs with the fans off and the gpu is constant between 50-56. When the fan is always on it goes to 38c. Can we lower this thing? So this is my first time flashing a video card and so I need more details about it.

Download the most recent mobile chip drivers from Nvidia's website. You can also use desktop chip drivers, but they will not work as normal and you will need to use a modded .inf file to get them to install. As per my experience you can go upto 620/1550/930 @ 1.05v, I have not tried this but this is what I have seen.

I have tried this and was successfully done. In my case, I used the GeForce 9800M GT BIOS for flashing and it is now working properly without SLI feature giving any problem. Until now I have only tested this on Far Cry 2 played for almost two hour and noticed little performance increase.

OK so you want to say that i have to use the 2d clocks. Are your sure that my computer will stay at 2d clocks when doing normal functions? Everything else will be remaining at the default settings? I don't want to loose my GPU and I will only want to see the changes for benchmarking purposes. I want the gpu but the whole heatsink fan is unable.

All of the clocks should remain stable on your graphics card. Your graphics card should be able to handle the heat a little better as the cooling system is more robust. However, make sure you never cross 75 C on benchmarking tool for 20 minutes at those clocks. It's only happen when you cross the voltage to 1.05v at the same clock speed where you will be seeing the sharp increase in heat.

For your information with just flashing you will not get a real performance boost as the GeForce 9800m GTX works at 500/1600MHz with its shaders clocked at 1250MHz. It uses the G92M chip, though the GeForce 9800M GTX BIOS do offer better overclocking. However I would recommend to perform some research before implementing anything.
