    LED vs. LCD Monitor

I am using Compaq Presario desktop computer at my home but think is that I am very fond of gaming so I normally play games which comes with higher and great resolution. To solve resolution issue my friend have suggest me to go for flat screen monitor but I do not have any idea about which to go for. I heard about LED and LCD display but I do not have any idea which will provide me better resolution while playing game. So suggest me which one I can have to solve my resolution problem.

    Re: LED vs. LCD Monitor

As you already know about LED monitors and LCD monitor actually both are same but the basic difference is that LCD uses LED backlight instead of florescent back-light. But LED monitor general consume less power than LCD monitor. The LED is quite a bit cheaper so you can go for that if you have budget issue.

    Re: LED vs. LCD Monitor

Both screens are LCD so the color and contrast producing mechanism is quite similar in both of them. Only different between the two is the back-light used by LCD whereas LED uses florescent because of which LED consume less electricity compare to LCD which make it more used monitor. So you surly can go for LED as your monitor because of its color efficiency and cost which will able to help you to work or in high resolution.

    Re: LED vs. LCD Monitor

While playing games like “Left 4 Dead” in which there is dark interface and only small bright lights which make 90% of the screen dark and turn the back-light virtual off which make it tough to see. But on other side when working on browsers or Web Pages there is more of white color so the back-light does not get adjusted and you see no improvement. Florescent back-lighting which is used by LCD doesn't get turned off to avoid reheating but LED screens can be completely turned off which make it better than the other.

    Re: LED vs. LCD Monitor

The only advantage of LED-based monitors is that they consume lower power, but on other side image quality is not better because of the white edge back-light technologies. To overcome this manufacture should go for any other technology. Because of which LED monitor are much cheaper and can be used to replace desktop computer for high resolution games. This will solve your resolution problem with desktop.

    Re: LED vs. LCD Monitor

LED is short form for light-emitting diode it uses back-light for newer LCD monitors and is used much in laptops because it consume less power and it is energy efficient. For gaming purpose you can surely go for an LED-back lit LCD monitor because it offer you great illumination. So you can go for LED monitor to save electricity as well as cut off your bill.
