    ATI 5850+5770 crossfire

    Hi,
I want to crossfire 2 different ATI cards which I believe will work very well. The first card is ATI Radeon 5770 and the other which I want to add is ATI Radeon 5850 to the same. Now as per the calculation I believe that this might work well on my system. I had checked the system configuration of the same which is quiet suitable for the same.

In my case the same worked well. My system configuration is M Asus P7P55D core I5 4GB kingston (2x2 GB) with PSU Cooler Master 680 watts and 2 graphics cards mentioned with windows 7 64 bit. The frequencies used are those origins except 2 of 2 cards ram is at 975 MHz, the GPU has a 870 mhz, the 2-800 MHz. I had added the same and worked well. I had overclocked the same which does not gave out any problem.

On the side of CrossFire, a single connector is now required, regardless of which, up to you if your card has 2. Place the 2 connectors poses no problem, however. As for Nvidia, one connector is required for SLI or Quad SLI, which has never changed, but a special connector to be used for triple SLI. So ffor that I will consider the purchase if you have such a motherboard. Motherboards nForce 780i and 790i include it in their bundle.

I think your system configuration might fit for the sli support. Usually if you have a dedicated slot on the motherboard for the same then that seems much better. Or else you have to play hard to make the system worked with both the cards. Try to get a proper support for the same in part of configuration and drivers of the graphic card.

The SLI has been criticized on several points as the need for two perfectly identical cards makes it more difficult to move to SLI, and that the gains in performance are highly variable and are absent when a specific profile in the game and has not been implemented in the driver. With the latest drivers, NVIDIA has reduced this problem by allowing everyone to create profiles SLI.

    Re: ATI 5850+5770 crossfire

CrossFire technology includes three elements a motherboard CrossFire-ready, Radeon X800 series or X850 graphics card and a CrossFire Edition. Currently, no CrossFire motherboard is available, which means that the transition to CrossFire requires the purchase of a motherboard and a second ATI ATI. At least in the short term because ATI does not abandon completely the idea of letting the CrossFire accessible to all motherboards Dual PCI Express 16x.

Unlike NVIDIA SLI graphics cards coupled two are not similar. CrossFire Edition cards or master cards, incorporate additional elements that are necessary for the proper functioning of technology. But ATI announces more flexibility in card association. So if you are opting for the same then you are probably right for the same. Just try to get assemble system for the same.
