    TV Tuner for Satellite TV

A few questions my friends......(1) I have Vista Media Center running a Hauppauge HVR-1290 TV Tuner. Is it compatible with Directv? I understand I am going to need the Directv HD receiver between the dish and the tuner.

    (2) Does the Hauppauge HVR-1290 split the signal so that I can record on one channel and watch on another? If not, which TV Tuner should I purchase?

    (3) Will I be able to record HD programming? I can watch HD programming via over-the-air and record it, but will this change with satellite tv?

    Thank you.

In that case i would suggest you to buy a internal TV tuner card which will record when you are watching, such kind of feature are not available with external TV tuner card. I would suggest you to go with Pinnacle or AverMedia which are very good.
