    Box around GV-N98TSL-1GI

    Hi,

I'm an occasional gamer and it's only now that I feel the need for a dedicated gaming rig.

Since I'm not planning to upgrade to HDMI anytime soon, I need a card that has traditional VGA input. I'd rather spend money on cooling, which is why I think the Gigabyte GV-N98TSL-1GI is a good option.

But I'm rather confused about the other components. I don't need a "future-proof" (if there's such a thing) box. I'd rather have a mobo that has multiple PCIe 2.0 ports that supports SLI/Crossfire and works with Core2Quads. I don't want to pay for it to have Core i7 or Phenom compatibility.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks.

    Mayank

Also, I'm more than happy with DDR2 RAM so if the mobo doesn't do DDR3 that'd be fine.

And: Here's the link to the GV-N98TSL-1GI: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...=GV-N98TSL-1GI

If only DDR2 is fins then i would suggest Gigabyte GA-G31-S2L. Supports Core2Quad... and DDR2 Memory...

Thanks RudraJ, but that seems like a pretty basic board. I'm looking for something that supports SLI/Crossfire so multiple PCIe ports will be nice.

Also, I realize this isn't the appropriate board for posting mobo questions, can the mods please move this thread to the "Motherboard Processor & RAM" forum. Thanks.
