ATEN Launches the New Touch Screen LCD KVM Switch

ATEN International, a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of advanced communications solutions, launches the new all-in-one KVM switch with a touch screen LCD monitor - KL3116T, part of the ALTUSEN Enterprise KVM Solutions line. The KL3116T is an integrated LCD console and KVM switch that offers secure access to 16 servers with dual USB or PS/2 interface, and mounts in only 1U of rack space.

The KL3116T is the first Dual Rail Touch Screen LCD KVMP Switch of its kind that requires no additional software to operate. The touch screen LCD requires no additional driver installation, and no serial port switch to operate - simply connect the IT devices for operation. The touch screen enables server operations to be managed in a quick and comfortable way, in particular where quick configuration changes are required. The KL3116T is ideal for industrial environments such as factory production lines, laboratories, or server rooms.

Based on the Dual-Rail design, the highly integrated KL3116T features an independently retractable 17" touch screen LCD monitor and keyboard with built-in touchpad. To maximize server room space, the keyboard can be stored away when not in use and the server status can be monitored continuously with the monitor slide out- even with the rack doors closed.

Dual USB or PS/2 interface provides secure access to different servers regardless of the interface. As many as 31 additional switches can be daisy-chained together, so that up to 512 servers can be controlled from a single keyboard, touch screen, and mouse console.

"The KL3116T is an ideal solution for companies seeking effective management of manufacturing lines and laboratory operations. KL3116T can be used wherever LCD KVM switches are deployed. If you have worked at a manufacturing line with gloves on your hands, you know how difficult it is to operate the controls with a mouse, that is why we offer the touch panel feature," said Kevin Chen, President of ATEN International.

An USB port positioned underneath the LCD panel can be used for connecting peripherals, such as CD-ROMs, pen drives or printers. The USB port can also be used for software installation or backups for computers connected via KL3116T. For users preferring mouse operation, KL3116T provides an additional USB mouse port.
