Gainward BLISS 8800GT too old for a Asus P5KC ?

    Hi everyone!
During the summer I intend to clean my computer that takes a lot of dust as I can not use it (another story ). I have decided to change the Heatsink (Noctua NH-C12P ) and I'm wondering if it worth the trouble to change the Graphic card .

    Here is my config 'current

    Component
    Processor : Intel QuadCore Q6600
    Motherboard : Asus P5KC
    Memory : 4 Gb Corsair DDR2-800 (4x1GB)
Graphics Card : Gainward BLISS 8800GT
    Hard Drive: Samsung 500GB
    Housing : Thermaltake Soprano DX
    Food: Thermaltake Toughpower 600W
OS : Vista 32 bit (Seven 64-bit to take full advantage of 4gb for later)
    Screen : Asus MW221U, 22 "
    Mice : Logitech MX 518
    Keyboard: Samsung rotten old
    Speakers : Logitech Z4

For now I play no games But I intend to play fairly new games (Far Cry, Assassins Creed, Crysis, TF2, ...).

So is it worth it that I change my graphic card or not? If you have other suggestions about my configure please

    Thank you for your responses.

for you to see if your GeForce 8800 GT is enough for you to play correctly to most of your games.

According to the latest games and "long term", a Radeon HD 4870/1GB would be better suited to play on an LCD screen 22 "in 16:10 (1680x1050) but it might be slightly hampered by the CPU .

But how does it slightly hampered by the CPU (I know nothing about the hardware apart from the abbreviations).
The Graphic Card seemed to me a lot.

The proc and Cm are very good compared to the rest of the config. you're on for the 4850 1GB? and not 512 MB?

Because already the difference is not obvious in 4870, except with GTA IV.

So finally what is the problem with the Radeon?

There is no problem with the Radeon HD 4xx0 ... it's just me who has made a type it is a Radeon HD 4870/1GB it is.

The Radeon HD 4850 could indeed suffice with Games VALVE (HL ² & Cie), but for others (Crysis, STALKER, Assassin's Creed, etc..) And in particular those to come, the Radeon HD 4870/1Gb would be a better choice.

True but you said it could be a bit restrained because of my CPU but why?

The Radeon HD 4870 graphics card is a very powerful and requires a powerful CPU to support it.

INTEL Core2Quad Q6600 tone is very good but seems a bit weak to support a Radeon HD 4870 ... I would consider a Q9400 today, the minimum with a graphics card.
