    Change 8800GTS to ATI 4870

    I want to change the video card and I want to know if the 4870 512 is stronger than my xfx 8800 gts 512 ... I was playing Crysis and I have a 22 inch screen thank you.

    Yes, the only problem I found ATI (I recently tested a 4850) is that it heats a lot, I had to increase the speed of the fan (20% blocked by ATI) and then it become noisy but to be "good" they are!

    I have 2 GB of Crucial memory and a Core 2 E6850 and asus P5K deluxe wifi ... but if it warms you imagine the great 4870 for heating problems must be edited and bottom

    if you make a profile in catalyst after turning on Overdrive (make sure clock and memory settings are correct). You can then go to the file "C: \ Users \ Bretware \ AppData \ Local \ ATI \ ACE \ Bretw are. XML. The xml file will have the same name as the catalyst profile you saved. Right click and hit edit.

    <Feature Name="FanSpeedAlgorithm_0">
    <property Name="FanSpeedAlgorithm" value="Manual" />
    </ Feature>
    <Feature Name="FanSpeedRPMTarget_0">
    <property Name="Want" value="0" />
    </ Feature>
    <Feature Name="FanSpeedPercentTarget_0">
    <property Name="Want" value="65" />

    Change the value to "manual" and Want value to "65" but you can put a 40

    Save the file then reload your profile in catalyst.

    65% seemed perfect for me, 70% was loud but you may need it if your case has poor air flow.

    You will may have to select the profile everytime you start the computer, but it will work until there is a fix or better info so i can figure how to change the auto target temp.
    Good Luck, bretware

    ATI is not the only one to do that

    I have a Galaxy GF8800GT Bios and the original video card also regulate the fan at about 20% at rest, then 100% when it reaches approximately 90 ° during a game
