I am planning to replace my graphics card by a more recent. It has been therefore several weeks that I scans prices. I waited for the sales, but as usual there's nothing ...
Initially I wanted a GTX 260 + but it is still too expensive. My favorites are back to a MSI 9800GTX + OC (OC as overclock).
But this morning I looked again and I find a 9800 GTX + overclock but not with 1GB memory, instead of the usual 512. And by looking at the specifications of the card, I see it does not have the official frequency (higher frequency memory). I searched the official website of the mark in vain, so I do not know if these data are reliable (a typing error is always possible). Moreover, I do not know the MTC.
So I submit to you asking you what you think of this (in relation to the OC 512MB version), the price difference is only about 650-700. The goal is to play with maximum detail, FPS and native resolution (1680x1050 @ 75Hz) in recent games like GTA4, Crysis warhead and far cry 2.
Here are the questions I posed:
1) Which do you recommend?
2) 1GB of memory is it right for a 22" screen?
3) Is there anything to fear from a little known brand as MTC?
4) I know if my motherboard (ASUS P5W DH Deluxe) is PCI-Express 2.0. Will I be constrained if it is 1.0?
