2 graphics cards from different chip manufacturers?

Hello, I have a Asus motherboard, where I spent 2 graphics cards can operate. I always hear from people only two Radeon cards or two GeForce cards in SLI mode. Now, I have asked myself whether it is possible, 2 graphics cards to operate, with both a Radeon and the other a Geforce is.

I have a HD 4870 and play with the idea as a second graphics card a GTX 260 (216) must be installed. Is that possible?

A GeForce and Radeon can not in SLI or CrossFire work.

Well, to be honest, right in SLI or CrossFire I will also not operate. The origin is actually my idea, that the ATI card does not support PhysX, and I almost an Nvidia card in addition hole that I exclusively for the use PhysX calculation. Alternatively, it could be even a 9800 GT be. If I were the only Geforce PhysX for use, then that is not really SLI, right?

But as far as I know, it is possible to imagine a second Graka installed only for the PhysX-calculation is used. Do not know how to do this, but I've read about.

If you have Vista, the idea falls into the water anyway.

On XP, this configuration is possible, but not very easy to implement.
