Licenses do not download- Error: 438- despite recovery confirmation

I have some copied cd's and I want to recover the licenses for the same to Windows Media Player on my pc but the problem is that the migration process wont work and I am not able to play the files. I dont have the CD's with me but I had downloaded them through the purchase in a store. Below is the message that I am getting that is in details:

"A license is required to play this file. The file you are trying to play was ripped (copied) from an audio CD. During the ripping process, the file was 'protected.' This limits the number of computers on which the file can be played. To play the file on this computer, you must download a license (a process known as 'license migration'). A license acts an electronic key that allows you to 'unlock' a protected file and play it. To download a license for this file, click Download License."

If I click the button then I get another message that says - "Error: 438: Unknown error occurred when storing your lisence." Does anyone know how to fix this problem.

Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the windows media player and checked if that has solved the problem. I think that you can try to re-rip the CDs by turning off the DRM on your computer, since you dont have the CDs and therefore you are out of luck here. Even if you are not able to restore your licenses then you can try to contact the product support and they will give you some solutions for sure.

This is an ActiveX control problem and you have to make sure that it is enabled in the Internet Explorer browser. To do the same you can open your Internet Explorer Options and then go to the security tab and under that select Custom Level or Default Level and the close the internet explorer and see if that works.
