Sirius Internet Radio will not play in WMP 11

I am trying to stream Sirius Internet Radio via Windows Media Player 11 but it keeps on trying to connect and fails with going back to ready. Tried many times but still the same problem. So far I have tried out everything mentioned in Sirius Radio FAQ but the situation remained same.

DO anyone here have any knowledge what could be the reason? Any idea how can I get rid of this problem? Please help.

I think Sirius has its own Player called “SIRIUS Player.” Then why do you need Windows Media Player for streaming their Radio stations? If there is something like you don’t like their player’s interface then let me tell you that I have tested Real Player and VLC with Sirius and they work fine. You should use that instead of WMP.

I had Media Player 11 installed on XP. I tried to roll back to Media Player 10. Bill Gates would not let me. So I went into regedit and deleted everything referencing to Media Player 11 and Media Fromat 11 Runtime. Once I deleted those two instances Sirius internte radio worked like a charm.
