    After hibernate/standby , OCZ Vertex 2 120GB SSD dead.

I am just confused in the situation, as to make a replacement or a fix as a I have been making use of a OCZ Vertex2 120GB SSD in my Thinkpad T61p for some good period of time and there were no issues concerning in my case, but after some weeks duration, I made an update of the firmware and today after making some attempts to resume from hibernation/standby I have lost the drive.i am not knowing what could be the exact reason behind this . but after researching lot on this topic, I made severe attempts to make use of the ISO linux pendrive so that I was able to unlock/unfreeze the drive, but failed in this process. I then made similar attempts here , but is only a solid green light on the drive. So I just wanted to ask you all guys as is the drive just in a "frozen" state, or is it dead? . if I make attempts for performing an RMA it will an attempt be made to fix it, or do I need to make an entire replacement of it. Please advise some good solutions.

According to me, I suppose that if the same behavior is seen connected to multiple systems the drive will require to be RMA'd. in addition, it can also been seen that any data recovery effort would require to be attempted previous to the drive is returned to OCZ. And if you are interested in making an recovery of the data, you would require to contact DriveSavers.

I was about to send the drive to a 3rd party company, and was having some doubts regarding the confirmation regarding what status the SSD drive is in with a solid green LED on it and in my case , I was assuming that it could be GREEN + RED = FAILED and also having some doubts like what does the static GREEN only LED mean and this all doubts were solved after quite researching on it. So it was found that if the drive is not seen in the BIOS or during Post in either system the color of the LED is not a constantly troubleshooting. And it has also been seen that either issue requires the drive be returned to OCZ.in addition , after this I was with relational doubts which stated that the issue is the drive is just locked, will the similar drive be returned unlocked in order that I am able to continue to make use of as well as access files. And it came into my notice that my supposition was absolutely wrong , and to add further, OCZ does not repair(or unlock) any SSD's on an individual basis. They just send you a latest one. And even if they did the recovery procedure needs a engineering mode flash which will tend to destroy all presented data along with resets the controller to a fresh state once more.

So as this issue is persisting in my case also , are you guys knowing something relating to it who have sent a Vertex 2 for recovery. As I have some data I would like to restore. I suppose my MBP which was running on Windows 7 was going into sleep mode after running low on battery. It was well working fine for some couple of months. After this I made some more attempts by opening the replacement Vertex2 drive which was sent back as part of the RMA process. And then made an installation of it in my latest tower PC installed the Windows 8 Preview, and left it for some couple of hours, the system was with same issue and my system hibernated and was with the same issue. So the Vertex2 is now dead and it is no longer recognizable by the BIOS. So what should be the possible case and can you find any terms relating it which will be useful in my case. Thanks in advance.
