Want to go for some cheap upgrades for AMD gaming pc

I have a limited budget here. I own a Amd Athlon 64 x2 processor with Biostar TF7050-M2 motherboard. I have a 4GB ram also. Other than this I am using a low end power supply. Now I am getting some cheap upgrades on the same. Some site is offering me a set of high mhz ram and a new motherboard below 200$. I am not sure to go for that or not. I am also planing to go for a upgrade for the same. But I am not sure whether to go for this cheap upgrades or not. Should I go for that. I have a doubt whether this is not a kind of scam.

Some sites offers pesky offers to catch users. However you do not get any option to test or check the product online. They ship you the product directly which can be fake. Some sites sales used products where there is no guarantee in the performance. Contact them and ask about the products genuine. Check that you are getting all warranty stuff and go through the conditions properly. I am sure this are used product. A good motherboard which can be best recommended for overclocking comes on a price range of 100$ to 200$. And how does you are getting a high mhz ram in the same. Go for product details. I rely mostly on official website or famous shopping sites like ebay or amazon where you get at-least guarantee about the product originality . This best to buy when you are getting a option of testing the product in your hand. What regular retail shops offers.

I will not recommend you to go for the same. Overclocking needs good power source and hardware support and under that amount the best thing you can get is a good motherboard.

Your current configuration is well enough. 4Gb ram is good. All you can do is go for a GPU or for a good power supply under that amount and if you ready to spend a little more then you can get a GPU + PSU + A good cpu cooler. I will mention some models here. I am listing some products which can fit your budget. At a investment of $150 you can get the best graphic card. The price range of $150 to $200 is best for a gpu selection. The example are Radeon HD 6770 @ $120, HD 6750 @ $110, GeForce GTX 550 Ti @ $145, GeForce GTX 460 @W $150, Radeon HD 6790 @ $155, etc. There are many more models which comes in the price range what I had mentioned. Now another important part is to choose a good psu. Under a price range of $100 to $150 you can get a good one here. The same goes to ram also. So you just need to add some more get what I had mentioned above. This will complete the set of gaming pc.

The offer looks great. But does the website is genuine. Do you really believe they are going to deliver the right product to you. I am not sure. You can best send a email about the same. I hope so this are not out of warranty products.

That can be true. I ordered a cpu case. They charged me the price + shipping but delivered the product which does not matches with the image on site. They said that is out of stock and the psu is also limited. I did not even know their location.

Going for upgrades is not a quick decision. You must first make list of what you want and then decide your budget. There are something you can skip. The first is the ram. You already had ample of ram. About the gpu it is a prime choice and you can adjust something in the power supply if you are not going to overclock the system. The last thing remains is a good cpu case. Because of you are overclocking then you need a better cooler with enough ventilation or else it is enough to go with the current one.
