HP 1200 printing not working properly with mac os x

I am using Mac OS X (version 10.6.3) and i am having a HP 1200 printer which is working fine With the Mac but i have noticed that when i am trying to print a .pdf documents then it takes a lot of time to print it say It takes minutes to print one page.I have already downloaded the latest driver for my printer and i am not able to detect the main cause of this problem.Is there any one who have experienced the same problem and have come up with a solution by now?

Your problem sounds to be weird.Even i have a mac Pro running OS 10.6 which is connected to HP 1200 laser printer and i have never faced this type of problem ever before i have also used the same printer with different version o0f OS like 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6. and i don't think that there is some problem with the OS or your printer but it appears to be a incompatibility issue.Just try to use your printer with different version and check if the problem remains the same or it disappears.If there would be any kind of compatibility issue then you might be able to at least detect the cause for it.

I had faced the same kind of problem before with my imac but later i was able to solve it by opening the system Preferences and then clicking on the print and scan and then on the options and supplies and then on driver and here in the drop down box just select "print software" which will be next to "print using" and then just select your printer and this will solve your problem as it had solved mine.Hope it works for you as well.

I have not yet heard abut this issue so i don't have a perfect idea about it but you can try the very basic steps to solve printers problem.What all you have to do is just try to delete the printer from the print center and then add it again you can also try to uninstall your driver and download the latest version of it just perform these steps and check out if you are able to solve your problem.If the cause is due to the driver the it will get solved with the download of the latest version of the driver.
