Is there any way to increase the HD speed in Toshiba Satellite a665-s6093

Well recently I have bought a Toshiba Satellite a665-s6093 at my home. The HD speed is around 5400 rpm .I want to know that is there any way to increase the speed like around 7200 rpm or no? I have inquired in many Toshiba stores regarding hdd for faster speed. But unfortunately there isn’t any model that has an HD speed more than 5400 rpm. Is it like that the power supply, heat system or the controller cannot manage it? Please let me know any answer. Thank you

I think there is no way that you can upgrade your HD speed. To improve that you need to replace your drive. There is no way to enhance 5400 RPM to 7200 RPM. To improve little the only thing you can do is you delete unnecessary files and programs. After doing that you can defrag your system. For this you need to start button >>programs>>accessories>>system tools and then finally to the disk defragment option. This will guide you accordingly and the speed might improve a bit. Yes Toshiba satellite a665-s6093 has a hd with a speed of 5400 rpm. It is not possible to increase the hdd speed to 7200 rpm. Laptop hard disks are usually the slower 5400rpm type in order to be both quiet and save power. If you want to have faster HD speed then try deleting some files and defragment the disk or else get the drive replaced. But generally in laptops it is not possible because the configuration and technical stuffs might not support.

Well HD speed of Toshiba satellite a665-s6093 cannot to be upgraded because of its system type and inbuilt capacity. Laptops support only HD speed of 5400 rpm. It’s pretty hard to find a laptop sized (2.5″) hard disk that runs at 7200rpm. It has different make than the desktops. Tell me why do you want a faster rpm? You can definitely download some software’s from the internet that might help you. Obviously increasing spin rpm of HD will affect the system because of the capacity of the system.

Toshiba satellite a665-s6093 has an HD speed of 5400 rpm. I would recommend you to but a external hard disk. They usually operate on a speed of 7200 rpm. You can also try this method as my one friend did. You need to buy a 2.5" SATA hard drive from a shop. Replace your HD with Seagate Momentus XT 7200 RPM 500 GB hybrid drive. Windows 7 will boot in 8 seconds. I think this will help you. Tell me what drive you are using and what is the capacity of the drive?

If you want to upgrade your HD speed to 7200 or faster then I think you need to call up the Toshiba service center. They will guide you properly. I think the for a laptop 5400 is only available. Are you ready to spend because if you want to upgrade then you will have to spend. I did try to download little software for doing the same but none worked. You can also try once .you can download software called mydefrag from a website. It will make your hard disk to perform little faster. Hope this helps.
