ESata cable/adapter not working with the Goflex pro

Has anybody attempted to utilize the eSata link (STAE103) with their drives? I am having only inconveniences with this connector. The drive works superbly on USB 2.0, but when I attempt to connect it to the powered eSata port on my laptop the drive is normally not even distinguished or the precise once in a while, the framework tells me that it ought to be organized. It has never totally worked. I doubt that it is a flawed link or if there is some natural situation with the link that others are encountering.

I purchased one of these links to run with my Goflex Pro drive. As it could not be viewed, it lack the capacity to be mounted-in any event that my tackle it. My PC doesn't see it to any detectable degree and there's NO introduction guide/manual with the link. There's no help on the Seagate online content either. None of this is a shock given my past background with Seagate. Since any individual does figure out how to break this situation please post any details/advice you have!

I've the same situation. With USB 2.0 link no situations; with the eSata update link the circle is unconditionally dead. The unit-director reveals to me "Standard ACHI 1.0 Serially-ATA-Controller". Every little item appears alright, but the plate doesn't work. I'm utilizing Windows 7. Since someone knows how to clear the situation please spared me the time to know. You should verify that the eSata drivers for your machine are redesigned. Check at the maker's homepage. Since that doesn't help, please report what you see in the Device Manager (right-click on [My] Computer, prefer Manage) both when it is identified and when it is not.

The eSata interface for the Goflex item utilizes a brand new standard, the eSata combo or eSata interface, and this is utilized to give the speed of eSata joined with capacity from a USB transport. This needs an eSata combo port. These combo ports are regularly found just on more current laptop PCs and are ordinarily designated by the saying "eSata" emulated by a USB image. The drive will unequivocally run with combo ports that unite as a single unit an eSata data transfer connector with a USB limit connector. Fundamental eSata ports do whatever it takes not to outfit limit and might as well not work. The aforementioned combo ports are now and again in addition called eSata or powered eSata ports.

The eSata link is not backed on Mac machines after Mac machines make a point not to right now accord powered eSata ports. Exhibition might be slower when the Seagate Dashboard programming is introduced. Uninstall the Dashboard product if utilizing eSata. You would be able to still utilize the incorporated reinforcement programming by heading off to Start > (All) Programs > Memo. A more up to date form of the Dashboard programming would location this issue in the fate, so check for redesigns before uninstalling.

Unfortunately I have to confirm all the problems regarding the eSata cable/adapter for the GOFLEX PORTABLE hard drive (The model of 1TB space in my case). The drive is not recognized from my brand new HP Elite book 8540w even if the eSata port is activated in the BIOS. No problems with the USB 2.0 and the USB 3.0 cable/adapters instead (that last works like a charm!) I think that you have tried all solutions, also changing the SATA mode in the BIOS by setting it to AHCI (default) / IDE / RAID but no success. I think the problem is the eSata adapter that does not transport sufficient energy/power to get the hard drive work correctly.

I believe that this is reliant on the USB controller chipset that is established on your pc. Some chipsets are "broken" and tries not to distinguish rightly some USB peripherals. Probably a driver overhaul for the chipset (if ready) will illuminate your issue. In the event that you hold the probability, attempt to introduce an outer USB center or a PCI extension card to associate the hard drive to. Give inclination for cards/expansions that have NEC chipsets. (Not Ali, VIA or alternate minor marks!).
