Dell Studio 435MT Turn on in 2 tries

Hello friend, currently, I have work on Dell XPS 435MT. Windows 7 64 bit operating system running on this desktop. Recently I connect WD external hard disk connected via USB connector. Whenever I try to turn on this desktop, then it starts at 2 times. If we press single time turn on button then it shows Dell Logo and then nothing happen. Then I need to long press this power button for turns off the system. Then second time it power up without any issue. After disconnecting external hard drive it doesn’t give any error message. I need to clear this trouble. Thanks and help.

Hey dude, I think there is some setting necessary in the BIOS. You need to check the setting of the BIOS. Then just go to the BIOS and check any USB devices listed in the boot order. Sometimes people will turn on "boot other device" options in the BIOS. This will impacts the system and then it tries to boot the external hard drive. If it is turn on then turn off it immediately. This will helps to solve this trouble. Use these solutions this helps to solve the trouble.

I also faced the same kind of trouble in this Dell XPS 435MT desktop. Then I check this BIOS setting and set the "boot other device" options to turn off. Then it also gives the same error. Then I use the Diagnostic on the bios options and it gives the error code 2000-0221. Then I think to just update the BIOS of the system. I done this task and now there is nothing happen in the system. It works correctly and I think you also try this solutions.

I also faced the same kind of trouble and use this update BIOS solutions but it can’t help to solve the trouble. Then I was looking bios setting there is "Quick Start" option is on. I guess to skip this option to off for starting the normal booting process. I disabled this option and then check the error of the desktop. Surprisingly the error is to be completely solved in the system. I almost try this checking process in three times and there is nothing problem occurred in the system.

If you want to boot up the connected WD external hard drive, then you must set the configuration of the BIOS settings. Then first Attach the external hard drive using USB and just go to the BIOS setting. After that you need to go to the Basic CMOS configurations and set the USB Hard Drive as a first bootable device. This will helps to solve the trouble. After restart the system the system directly boot the external hard disk and it never gives the 2nd time booting problem.

Hey dude, thanks for your post. I want such kind of solutions. Recently I purchased the external hard drive and I want to boot this hard drive in the system. But I can’t able to do this. I use the quick boot options but it can’t help. I haven’t known about the jumper setting. Then I read your post and it helps me to boot the external hard disk. I think this is the good solutions for booting the external hard disk without booting the primary hard disk.
