Matshita DVD-RAM UJ870QJ is not recognizing the blank writable media

Hello everyone I have a Sony Vaio VGN-NR32S/S with Vista Home Premium. It can still play DVD;s and CD's, and trying to burn no matter which is totally impossible. It keeps suggesting me to insert writable media in the drive, when I insert a writable blank media in the drive let it be any say a blank CD-R or DVD-R they both are not recognized as writable media. So what methods should I try in here so that I can get some solutions for it please help me on these I am waiting for your response.

Have you tried changing the manufactures of the CD might be a possibility that the CD might have got corrupted so for just a change try using some other manufactures like TDK, Verbatin and Maxell. That will be of great help for you so try this method first and come back to me if that helped or not does not looks to me as a big major issue but slight solving out the issue will be of definite help for you so that’s what I am saying here hope you have got the necessary advice on this topic.

Hey thanks for the suggestion that you have given here appreciate that you have given some suggestion but let me tell you that I have already tried out this method and let me tell you that it did not work for me at all. so that’s what I am saying here. Yes its but obvious that somebody could have thought of such simple solution I did try with the same method and still it is giving the same result means it is not recognizing the CD as a blank writable media.

If you ask me then I would have uninstalled the CD-RW and the software and then again reinstalled the software, reboot the system then, re-install the CD-RW, and then again a reboot. This is a relatively quick check on somewhat like this, and I would have very much preferred Nero here. I use the Adaptec stuff at work, but I discover Nero works much, much better. Try working on the solution and let me know if this suggestion helped you or not.

There might be a possibility that your drive is relatively "new" it is likely that the burning programs have no support except they are updated to add you burner's model number. So as such my advice for you would be just try upgrading your burning software. It is also possible that the burner does not distinguish the media being used the reason might be the burner's firmware does not include any data on that particular media. So for that the solutions there is to try different media or upgrade the burner's firmware. Packet writers can be crappy sometimes and hence you have to be careful of that.
