Unable to install software for HP DeskJet F4180 All-in-one

I recently purchased a new computer which had Windows 7 on it. I'm trying to use my printer (HP DeskJet F4180 All in on this computer. But I'm running into some issue installing it. I went to the printer's driver page at their official website and downloaded the software, but installation failed. When I open the .exe file it asks me to initiate the install but then a dialog box of a CD-ROM comes up and the installation closes. I've tried re-downloading the file but the same problem keeps occurring. I am unable to get past this stage and it's really frustrating. Need help as soon as possible. Thank You!

Try this; Open Computer and type %temp% in the address bar at the top of the screen. Doing this would open up the temp directory. In this directory you will find a directory that starts 7s, enter the directory by double clicking on it. This is where the web download extracts its files. Change the folder options so that you can see the file extensions. You will find that there is a file call hpzsetup.exe.txt renames this to hpzsetup.exe .The you should be able to restart the web install by clicking on the setup.exe in this directory. I hope you can follow these instructions.

Hi, I had the same issue with my HP DeskJet F4180 All-in-one and so I followed your instructions but nothing happened. I was able to print the test pages, also align the cartridges but nothing happens when I try to print something with printer from my computer. After giving print instructions, I used to open the print queue dialog to check if the correct thing is printing. But now it shows nothing. It says "0 documents in queue".

I too got the same problem. Try this, First Install the HP DeskJet printer software which is bundled with the printer. Remember that the software must be installed first into your PC before connecting the Printer. When you initiate the setup process, the setup asks you to connect the printer, Connect the printer when asked. If all went smoothly restart your computer and see if this method worked for you.
