Is it true that Hard Drive is user upgradeable

Here I wish to know that it is true or not? Does anybody know if the Hard Drive is user upgradeable? Toshiba sells bigger drives on its website but in the product explanations says it suggests professional installation. Does anybody know how tricky it would actually be? Anyone have any idea about this? What the cause actually? I really not understand this even I ask this to many of my friends but they also don’t have any answer for this. I also try to look this on net but can’t find any answer for this. So please if anyone has any idea about this than please provide me.

Toshiba has no directives for disassembling a NB so if it is not only taking out one turn and change it then they think it too tough for the average user. If there is any panel which is at the base that you can simply unlocked and notice the HDD after that it should be very simple to change. If you can’t notice it simply then I wouldn’t even disarray with it. You may have to take the laptop separately to get to the HDD which will mechanically void your warranty the second you unlock the laptop case.

It’s based on the model. The majorities are quite simple to restore or upgrade, but I would not at all buy one straight from Toshiba for few reasons. Toshiba brand Hard Drives are not too dependable, their performance lags after all of the other brands and they accuse many more than what you can obtain a similar drive elsewhere, for example Newegg. Your greatest bet would be a Western Digital Scorpio Blue in general as they have the best mixture of reliability, cost, and performance. If you are gazing for the best performance from a mechanical hard drive then the Hitachi 7K500 would be your perfect bet.

The HD in the Toshiba NB305-N310 can simply be swapped in just a pair of minutes.
    1. Take away two small torx screws holding the bigger panel on the base of the Netbook. The screws are dissimilar lengths, so pay attention to which takes out from which hole.
    2. With the cover detached, slide the HD 'back' away from the connectors. It will become movable and can be lifted out.
    3. Take away the mounting set from the HD and setup it in the similar way on the new drive.
    4. Fall the new drive in the cavity and slide it over in order that the connectors connect. Put back the cover.

There is clearly not anything hard or challenging provided your eyes are open and you are paying attention.

I received the Toshiba NB305-N310 and I just setup a replacement HD. The process was simple and effortless. What was painful was commerce with Toshiba concerning replacing my HD. All I required was some documentation on the process, just so I know I am doing the steps properly. All I got from Toshiba was them knowing me that I am invaliding my warranty (BS) and I necessitate to take my Netbook in to do the process! Well I will take that suggestion into account next time I am looking for a Toshiba computer! I will be doing my best to stay away from Toshiba product now that I know tech support is ineffective!

That drive is an outstanding selection. The WD Blacks are a few of the best on the market, especially the 320 GB because of platter size. An extremely large percentage of the people placing reviews don't have an idea about PCs and post unknown information all of the time. Newegg is a nice place to purchase products, but one necessitates seeming at more reputable testing and assessment sites to decide what to purchase.
