Unable to get any sound after reinstalling Dell XPS 600

I have the Dell XPS 600 with me and was having a problem with it but then I just reinstalled it for some reason and then after reinstalling it the sound that I was getting is no more audible. My Dell support installs Creative AC'97.Also I have installed chipset driver from my Dell support and then uninstalled audio drivers, rebooted and still no sound. I am having the Audigy 2ZS sound card with me.So this is what is taking place and I am just confused on what to do now .So if anyone knows the solution to this then do get back to me immediately.

I just had a look at the question that you have put up and would say that this is due to some problem in the reinstallation process of Dell XPS 600.I think that Dell does not list the Audigy 2ZS sound card in the downloads for your model. So the downloads lists the REALTEK driver for integrated on the motherboard audio as well as the SoundBlaster X fi for the optional sound card. Also if you have an Audigy 2ZS then the other users have reported the Creative drivers will work with a Dell model Audigy 2ZS.

I think that you need to find a comment saying Dell had hooks in to Sound Blaster so that may be why they won't install and have to use the Creative AC97.Also what you can do is that you I uninstalled AC97 and ran Driver Sweeper and then check if you can get any sound.So these are the various steps that you can check out and then I guess that everything will be fine with you.But I am quite sure that if you use these options then all will be done properly.

Thanks a lot for the replies that you have provided to me and would say that this is something that I had expected from you all.I feel that these solutions that have been given would be useful to me.I haven’t just went through them but haven’t used them completely.But I have a feeling that once I use them then all will be fine with me and then there wont be any problem at all.Also I would tell you that if there are any alternate solution then do get back to me immediately.

I think that you just need to check the process of reinstallation as I do seriously feel that there must be something wrong with it.Also I feel that once you carry out the reinstallation process once again then everything will be fine with you.Also one more thing that you can do is that you can check the sound card that you are using and see if it is fine or not.I am sure that once you do these things then all will be fine with you and there wont be a problem at all.

I think that this is something that I need to carry out immediately. I would tell you that I have been unable to get this to work, just from reinstalling Windows.I know the Dell downloads don't show the Audigy 2ZS for my machine but the card has SB0350 on it and the XFi download doesn't find supported hardware on my machine.Also now I need to check the sound card as well and see if it as proper or not.But I would like to thank you all for the solutions that you have provided as they have helped me a lot.
