Hammer external hard drive cannot turn on

Today I tried turn it on, but has no power at all??!! It was run fine when I turn it off last night. I switch to a power adapter but just cannot turn it on. Could someone give me some advice? Thanks a lot.

When you connect it, then do you see any light blinking on the hard drive (assuming a small red/green light on the drive)? You can first try to turn off everything, then check all the cables and make sure that everything is plugged in properly where it should be as 99% of the case due to this problem the hard drive is not turning on. After that turn on the power to to the computer and external drive and if still doesnt work then your power supply might have gone bad for sure.

Before coming to any conclusion, did you try replacing the usb cable or the power adapter of the external hard drive? Did you try plugging it in some other pc, to check whether it is a usb port fault or the drive itself? I am 100% sure that your power cord could have gone bad. I've had several cords for old monitors go bad for some reason.

I Solved the problem. The AC adapter is bad. As soon as I change to a new one and everything is back to normal. Thank guys.
