I have a MACbook and I connected it to a professional sound system and it works great but then I connected a TV via VGA cable and I get a loud buzzing sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regarding your issue first i will advise you is to check the VGA cable which seems to be the faulty and that is why it is not working properly. Just change the cable and try to get connectivity with the same. Also if possible then check whether you are connecting in proper port or not. So if you can then go through all the above solution and work with the issue.
