Computer freezes while connecting printer through USB

Recently I buy a brand new desktop pc with usb printer. Entire machine is working properly. But last night when I connect my printer with my pc entire machine freezes. I don’t know is this fault related to mu pc or printer. I desperately need someone’s help to solve this problem. I want to complete my project in four days and without printer it is not possible to me to complete my project. Please help me to solve this problem as early as possible. You’re each and every reply valuable for me. Thanks in advance. please reply me the simple solution which can be performed by me.

First try to solve this problem by using simple methods. Check whether drives required by your usb printer installed properly or not. You can check your driver’s status with the help of your device manager. if you find drivers are not installed properly then uninstall all the usb drivers and install fresh copy of drivers from net or cd. And now check whether your printer detected or not by your machine. If it detects it than there must be some virus present on your pc. You have to scan your entire pc with the help of some updated version of antivirus. This will completely solve your problem regarding your USB printer.

If even after installing fresh copy of drivers you are facing same problem then try another option. First switch off both devices that is your PC and printer and switch it on again. First switch on your pc after that power on your printer. Now check your PC whether he is detecting your printer or not. If you still unsuccessful to attach it with same port repeat the same procedure but this time connect your printer with another available port. It might be possible that there is something wrong inside your usb port. I hope this time your printer gets detected by your system. If it detects it don’t try to change any settings related to printer and system.

If you are using usb cable for connecting your printer with system then it might be the issue related to your usb cable. Check your cable whether she have cut somewhere or not. And if possible try to use different usb cable. Also check the status of both usb and printer drivers. If this also fails then last option remain is try to connect your printer with another PC. This will clarify you about exactly which device is not working properly is this your printer or your machine. As you already said your machine as well as printer both is in warranty period. You can replace them from your dealer.

Yes! Finally I got a solution which will solve the all problems related to your USB device. Firstly create system restore point by using system restore option available in system tools. And named that point as “Before USB Fix”. After that create file in notepad with following text and give it name as FIX.REG.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment]"DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES"="1"

• Now double click on that file and select merge to registry option.
• Remove ALL USB devices.
• Open Device Manager.
• Click on “Show Hidden Devices.”
• Uninstall all devices under USB Controllers, Disk Drives Storage, and Volumes.
• After this reboot your machine twice.

And now check your printer whether it is detected or not.
