Acer 8930G centre speaker not working

My center speaker has stopped working for me. Whenever I try to select the centre speaker icon which is on the speaker setup then there is no sound. Other speakers are working fine while listening music but it is not giving the good sound quality. I have done the system recovery because I was updating it. I don’t this that may cause the issue with speaker. Can you guess what is the problem and how can I get out of that? Please help.

The center speaker may not work in testing. You should find the DVD with a 5.1 track. You should check that if you can hear here the people talking through the center channel. If you cannot hear that then you can exchange the center and the subwoofer in the realtek control panel. If you want to have it then you have to replace it. The front left, front right and center are just one assembly and you have to disassemble the whole unit to get to it.

You may have problem with the audio drives you are using. What you have to do is just uninstall the driver from your computer and restart it. When it again starts, it will detect the hardware attaches to it and automatically reinstall the appropriate driver for that. See whether it solves the issue, if not then you can download the latest driver from internet and install it. In most of such sound cases, driver is the reason behind that.

You can try the following on your system
    • First of all right click on volume icon in the notification area
    • Now select Playback devices.
    • Click on speakers
    • Click properties
    • Select the “Levels” tab.
    • Turn all the levels down except HD audio output and internal subwoofer.

Play any music with Windows Media Player.

If you are getting any issue like this then the very first thing that you have to do is, just check for the warranty card that you must have got with the Laptop while purchasing it. If it is still under warranty then why are you trying anything on yourself? Just take it to the dealer and see what he can help you. If he is not able to resolve the issue then you can send it back to the manufacturer and I am sure that they will solve the issue.

Ok…it was a driver problem. I downloaded the latest driver from internet and installed it on the computer. After installing it when I rebooted my system then I found that the center speaker stared working. Now I don’t have any problem with the audio. Thank you very much to all for your replies. Anyone who is searching for the solution for the same issue can also do thkis and I am sure that it will work.
