    Future of optical discs

The optical disc is the technology which in future will be taking the place of the hard disc. And I have also heard that it will provides us with the plenty of space on its single disc. I don't have the knowledge about the latest technology in the coming generation of the optical disc and what will be the advantage of using it. So, I will like to know about the latest optical disc and how much capacity are available on it.

As till now we were using the CD and DVD disc to store the data where DVD disc has given the upgrade of the CD disc as DVD disc is having the much better space to store data. It was able to store the data upto 4GB. After that the dual layer and the HD DVD disc came in the technology and was having the much more storing space than the rest of optical disc.

The optical disc drive is having the very impertant part that is it optical path which is in the pickup head which can be said as PUH which is mostly having the semiconductor laser and then a lens for guiding the laser beam on the optical disc and at last the photodiodes which are identifying the light reflaction on the optical disc surface. This is how day by day the technology of optical disc is getting improved.

    Re: Future of optical discs

In the future the optical disc will be having the advanced technology by getting the dual layer of the Blu-Ray disc which is having more storage capacity and soon it will take the place of the Hard drive. So it would really be nice you can put all your data in this Blu-Ray disc and the life time of this is very long as it doesn't get spoiled so easily.
