Download the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver R2.37 from an official website. After downloading the driver install it and Go to the start and in the start go to the control panel .Then go to the sounds option ,now go to speaker and double click on it .You will see speaker properties windows appears in that ,in that go to the Enhancements tab and Select the Speaker Fill option. In this you can check your speaker 5.1 or 2.1,it will work fine.

I have founded a nice solution for this problem, please try it out .Go to the Start-------->Control Pane------>Hardware and Sounds------>Sound------->Speakers-------->Dolby------>Click on the Dolby prologic IIx.After doing this check your sound .This was the reason why you were not able to listen sound in 5.1.If your problem is getting solved then reply me back

I am providing a general solution for all those who are facing the same problem. You need to install the new version of your driver and need to remove the current version. After uninstalling the driver ,you reboot the system to automatically reinstall it.It will still not work ,you need to put the system in hibernate mode the audio worked.Follow this instruction carefully and you will definitely be able to solve this issue.

I am giving you connection setting. You check it out. If you are having p5qpl-am then it should be connected in the following ways. If you are looking at the back of the PC from left to right, then orange---->green *black. You also need to check your other connections .i.e whether they are properly connected or not .Hope it would help you. If not, then give me the reply .
