Headphones problem under Ubuntu

I have no sound on the output Headphone A6va my ASUS (HDA intel sound card, ALC880), in the power controller "GNOME Alsa Mixer" there is no tab "Headphone". Note that I checked in the properties of "GNOME Alsa Mixer" and this option is not present has also noted that I sound on internal speakers of my laptop. What is the solution for this? why you downloaded the latest driver? According to the tutorial on the ubuntu's official site, it works very well without having to hand Compiler.
