    Headphones problem under Ubuntu

    Hello,
I have no sound on the output Headphone A6va my ASUS (HDA intel sound card, ALC880), in the power controller "GNOME Alsa Mixer" there is no tab "Headphone". Note that I checked in the properties of "GNOME Alsa Mixer" and this option is not present has also noted that I sound on internal speakers of my laptop. What is the solution for this? Any help will be great. Thank you.

    Re: Headphones problem under Ubuntu

I have an Asus A6VC, my headset works, from time to time (especially when the proc. I think works), it freezes a little. AND most importantly, the headphone volume is one that is changed by the shortcut Fn + F10/11/12 (to mute /+/-) ... it's embarrassing when the headset is not connected.

    Re: Headphones problem under Ubuntu

I tried but it does not work Fn + shortcuts F10/11/12 work for the PC audio but still no sound on Headphone output, plus I can not install the driver Alsa. I downloaded the latest driver ALSA and when I type. / Configure I say this:
    Code:
    ubuntu: ~ $ cd / home/Desktop/alsa-driver /
But this is not working for me. More help is appreciated. Thank you for your help in advance.

why you downloaded the latest driver? According to the tutorial on the ubuntu's official site, it works very well without having to hand Compiler. By telling, check the model of your card, perhaps it is not z71v (this one is one that has three output having headphones that also S / PDIF (I know it ' that means, but I know I have that)) If you want then try installing with sudo command as root user.

    Re: Headphones problem under Ubuntu

I thought the last driver was going to solve my problem with cons on the tutorial I gave above I can not find the file / etc / modprobe.d / sound option to add "options snd-hda-intel model z71v position_fix = = 1 "(is it normal that I do not have this file?) I think the driver that I should go but the card is not properly configured, so I'll give the install the driver, and try to find the solution. Any other solution or advice is appreciated.

Even I had a similar problem and I think I have a solution for this . Indeed it is necessary to create the sound file in / etc / modprobe.d / and place the following line:
    Code:
    options snd-hda-intel model = z71v position_fix = 1
it works, great thank you very much for your valuable advice Infinity.
