    eSata for IMac

I have FireWire 800 is the fastest transmission interface. Of course not. In the computer world, the pursuit of "faster" is not never-ending. Many of my friends may have heard the name eSATA, because many external hard drive box is also equipped with eSATA interface, the eSATA transfer speed provided no less than FireWire 800. So why eSATA Mac users have not heard it. Any idea ?

Because Apple did not include eSATA as standard equipment, so the Mac in general who can not find eSATA connection port. To use eSATA, will depend on various types of expansion cards can. In Mac Pro PowerMac G5 or expansion of the excellent performance of these computers, if you want to use eSATA, just buy a Mac OS X-compatible PCIe card (for example, Sonnet Tempo SATA E2).

I am testing a 4GB file to read and write speed on my Mac. The eSATA interface, the write speed is USB- 300%, While the read speed is USB- 140%. Although the write and read speed of FireWire 800's so unlike the average, but the USB interface is also relatively high figure.
