Dual monitor programs suggestions needed

I have got a dual monitor set up at my home having the two identical monitors which is Samsung 2343BWX. These both monitors are not able to fit on my desk if want to use triple monitor action. But anyway i am using it with my macbook now.
I want to ask you that what are the needed programs to run a dual monitors set up.

I do not think that there are any must needed programs to run a dual monitor set up on any computer system. At least i know about the windows operating system. I have not installed any extra softwares on my Vista operating system and happily using both monitors which i have connected to it.

I have seen many guys do use some ruler programs which helps you when you have increased the size of your screen by using the dual monitor setup.
You would be able to measure the distance (in pixels) between to points or the length of a graphic item. I think you may use Cubic Ruler which is a very simple to use screen ruler and you can easily find its download as it is freeware. But it is not necessary for dual monitor systems.

I am using the software which helps me to get the different wall papers on each monitor when i enable the dual monitors on my system. Ultramon is a software which you can use to set the different wallpapers on both the different monitors. It also helps you to manage the size of the wall paper according to your screen resolution.

If you are using dual monitor setup on your windows operating system then i guess there something which you might be hating about the default dual monitor set up.
1. You need to minimize the application in order to get it on second or third monitor.
2. All the programs would be on task bar irrespective of on which monitor they are running. This makes you finding that which programs running where.
3. No way to stretch up the single program on all across both the monitors. This could be helpful when you have long Excel spreadsheet.
