    Solo 9500 CMOS Battery

    Hi everybody,

I just bought the dell machine, found the system time is at 0:00 on the January 1st, 2007. Restart, enter BIOS modified, and modified the BIOS boot from the CD-ROM boot, record, exit reboot into the system time correctly. Then I shutdown, power off. Next time I boot, found that time and became at 0:00 on the January 1st, 2007, and I set the BIOS can not record. CMOS battery is suspected. It is still so, how is it? Please help.

The motherboard clock is generally slower because CMOS Caused by inadequate battery voltage, can be solved by replacing the new battery. Also the motherboard may also be problems related to the circuit, this new battery is useless. Normally board CMOS You can use the battery at least several years. Now have a majority of board CMOS Set the jumper, if the jumper wrong, will CMOS battery is discharged state, can be consumed quickly completed CMOSBattery power.

You need to first check the jumper, if no problem, then it may be motherboard failure, such as CMOS Battery socket. The phenomenon of short circuit or leakage chips. Turning to the situation from your perspective, you experience slow and the clock CMOS Complete failure of the battery easy to consume, it is possible because the circuit board-related problems caused by such failures can only be sent to professional maintenance. All the best.

Basically a compatible desktop use more than three years, recently found that the clock can not be saved, every time the opportunity to open automatically to zero, re-enter the CMOS settings, still can not be guaranteed, so that the motherboard for the power supply to the CMOS battery radio, replacement of the battery, still can not save settings, a variety of settings after power off automatically zero. This is the main reason.

This is generally considered the battery on the motherboard no electricity, and then can be solved as long as replacement batteries. After replacing the batteries, set still can not save, so suspect a problem with the battery, remove the battery, measured with a multimeter, voltage, normal and did not decline, it seems the battery is no problem. Check carefully for installing the battery on the motherboard socket, found in contact with battery spring, there are some small rust with fine sandpaper clean and re-installed using the normal, fault disappears.
