Computer Won't Boot Up "No Keyboard Detected"

Hello, I have a desktop computer which is installed with Windows XP operating system. The computer was working properly till yesterday when the computer shut itself down while downloading some files from the Internet and now when the computer is tried to boot, it gets stuck in the BIOS screen and says Keyboard not detected. Also sometime it gives an BSOD with a message of physical memory dump. I am not a computer savvy and hence if anybody is facing similar issues like Computer not booting : No keyboard detected then please suggest some solution.

The problem which you are facing is due to the faulty motherboard. The motherboard of the computer is responsible for controlling all the functions which are performed by the computer. Motherboard is responsible for providing correct voltage levels to all the peripherals which are connected to it. If the motherboard is faulty then the computer will not boot and will give such problems. Hence get the motherboard of the computer checked. If the motherboard is faulty then you will have to get the motherboard replaced. After replacing the motherboard, you will not face such problem.

The keyboard of the computer must be faulty and hence the computer is not getting detected. There is an IC on the keyboard which is known as the keyboard controller IC. If the keyboard controller IC is faulty then the keyboard will not get detected. There is no way in which the keyboard controller IC can be replaced, hence you will have to replace the entire keyboard of the computer. Replace the keyboard and see if the computer starts.

Re: Computer Won't Boot Up "No Keyboard Detected"

Normally physical memory dump error is related to the system memory of the computer. The system displays a BSOD with physical memory dump message when the computer is not able to access the system memory. Check if the RAM are placed properly in their respective slots. Open the computer and then remove the RAM from their respective slots. Clean the connecting terminals and replace it in its slot. If there are multiple RAM chips, try booting the system using single RAM chip at a time. If for a particular RAM chip if the system does not boot then discard the RAM chip as it may be faulty.

Re: Computer Won't Boot Up "No Keyboard Detected"

If the keyboard has a USB connector then try changing the USB port on which the keyboard is connected. Sometimes the USB port on the motherboard is faulty due to which the device which is connected to it will not get detected. Change the port and see if the keyboard is detected. If the keyboard is detected on some other USB port, then previous USB port is faulty due to which the keyboard was not getting detected.
