Portege r200 and Windows 7

Hello,
I have purchased a Portege r200 and i have installed Windows 7 on it. It have no problems what so ever except the function keys do not work correctly. I have tired the Toshiba drivers but when I try to install then I get a message the the operating system is not compatible with the software. If you have a solution for this then please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I have also purchased the same laptop, I think that there is a problem with the functions key in the laptop, though I am not sure that this is a operating system problem or the hardware problem. It would be great laptop if there would be not limitation of the function keys. I think it this is the problem of the laptop vendor then they should take care of it and solve the problem quickly as many people are will to buy this laptop.

If this is the problem of the hardware then I think they will surely sort out the problem, I am sure that the engineers at the Toshiba are intelligent enough to do it. Have you tried to install the drivers which are offered by the third party, just have to try to then and see if they work with this laptop, if they do then well and good. But I do not know why most people are getting this function key problem.

Hello,
I have activated the function key by installing the package with si provided by the Toshiba. For, me all of the function key work perfectly , but there is a different problem now, the brightness of the screen does not work, that is I can not set the brightness of the screen and it is as it is. I also installed the software provided by the windows 7 operating system, but wen that did not help me.

I think this may be the problem because you guys are trying to install the software of the old model in the newer version of the model. That is have you seen that the newer version of the software is available or not? if it is then you can try that first. I personally do not think that this is a windows 7 problem , if it would be the operating systems problem then any of the drivers installed would not work.
