    HP LaserJet 1220 scanner malfunctions

    Hello. I have a desktop machine and it is been installed with Windows 7 as the operating system. I have a Hp LaserJet 1220 scanner installed to my system. the problem is that after I have upgraded my system to Windows 7 from Windows Xp it has started to malfunction. I do not know what might have gone wrong. Please help me out. Thank you.

    This issue is generally related to the the drivers that is been installed to the system and is been associated with the scanner that you have established with the system. it is necessary that the drivers you have installed should be proper and hence it would work out well for the same. It is quite essential that you need to look out for the same. This would help you out.

    It may be that the drivers are outdated and hence you need to upgrade the drivers to its latest. It is because the drivers needs to be latest as so that it may be able to cope well with the newly advanced operating system that is Windows 7. It is very much possible that the drivers are not able to respond to the operating system been very incompatible. So check out.

    Install the application driver by disabling the services that is been enabled by default. Perform a clean boot. It will help you out in installation of the application well without any problem.

    * Click on the start button.
    * Type msconfig in the searchbox and hit enter.
    * Under the selective startup tab choose Hide all Microsoft services.
    * Now disable the services.
    * Restart the system.

    There is a way through which you can make the things to work out for you and that is by reinstalling the complete operating system in a clean process. This means you need to perform a clean installation of Windows 7 as the operating system you have upgraded due to which the hardware is not able to work well with the new operating system. So not upgrade perform a clean setup installation and then see the conclusion.

    There is another way through which you can perform the same by uninstalling the drivers and then reinstalling it. All you need to do is to follow the steps below:

    - Go to the start button and click on it.
    - Open the control panel option.
    - Then choose the system information.
    - Select the hardware tab and choose device manager.
    - Now expand the scanner section.
    - Remove the drivers by uninstalling it.
    - Then install the drivers again by restarting the system.
