    Reset the Embedded Controller

    Hello, I am getting problem in my notebook. So, I flash my BIOS and one of my friend told me that, if you flash the Bios then you need to reset the Embedded controller. So, will you please tell me how to reset this Embedded controller? I don't know how to reset this. And my friend who told me to do this, is also not having any knowledge about this. So, please can anyone give me the steps regarding this?

    Hi, I don't know how to reset Embedded Controller as I have not done this yet. But, I don't get why are you wanted to reset the Embedded Controller? As if you had flushed the BIOS and if you have solve your problem then I don't think that you need to worry about the other things. If you are getting any problem then you can try for other solutions.

    If you want to reset the Embedded Controller then you need to follow the following steps:

    • First turn OFF your notebook.
    • Then remove recharge plug of the notebook.
    • Then Remove battery
    • Now Leave it as it is for about 5 to 10 minutes.
    • Now simply put everything back and power the laptop again.
    • Done.

    I am getting problem in my notebook, whenever I log in all the time I need to change my time and date. It is not updating by its own. So, is it the problem of the BIOS battery or it can be solved with the Embedded Controller reset. Just tell me so that I can able to get the solution. It is not more old and till now I have not got any problem from it. So, if you can tell me any suggestion it will be helpful to me. I am waiting for your reply.

    Hi, it is quiet simple to reset the Embedded Controller. It needs to use the steps mentioned as below:

    1. Turn Off your notebook with the use of button provided.
    2. Remove recharge plug from the switch.
    3. Remove battery form you notebook.
    4. Leave as it is for for about 5 minutes.
    5. Put everything back and power the laptop again.

    Hello, I don't get what did you mean by the Embedded Controller. I have searched on internet, but I don't find anything on internet regarding the Embedded Controller. So, will you please tell me what did you mean by the Embedded Controller. I will help you if I come to know the exact problem which you are facing. I am not able to get your problem also from your post.
