Windows 7 freezing and no wifi card issue

It seem to have two major problems with my Windows 7. Windows 7 freezing randomly and no internet access via either WIFI card. Now when I have the card in my system just freezes as soon as I Log on. I have to end up powering it off because it won't let me do anything at all on it. I have a HP desk top with Windows 7 64bit home premium installed on it. The computer freezes up all the time. The other problem is that i can connect to download any of the updates on my pc. Does any body knows why i'm facing Windows 7 freezes and no wifi card issue? Any idea about it? Please provide me the correct solution to resolve the above issue. Thanks.

According to me the new drivers available on Windows Update might fix the issue. Make sure you have enough power supply capacity. Your machine is a few years old now and power supplies do degrade.

Does your wireless adapter manufacturer have drivers for Windows 7 yet? I would mind so much if it was crashing because I was thrashing it hard - it normally fails when the PC is idle. Does this computer have a manufacturer install recovery setup or something of that type like a recovery partition? If it is a pre-built system, have you asked the folks who built it?

Try turning off sleep features and hibernate features. The vista driver should work if you install it in the compatibility mode. When you BOOT to the disk go to custom and make sure you have 1 partition, you may need to install to a small partition that doesn't have space for the files to expand. Once you remove partitions your old system is gone. Just right click the installer-->properties-->compatibility, and check your Windows 7.
