The choice depends on your requirement. If you want it for small office use then a small range from Hp is a better alternative. But the problem is that that cartridges in this printer gets dried up when you keep them idle for a long time. To remove the dryness you will have to apply some alcohol on the nozzles. And if you want a long lasting heavy duty printer which does not have above issues then go for Dotmatrix type printer. This printer are best for bill printing, bulk printing and very affordable. They work on ribbons which never dry up and gives more output. But you cannot get a full image or high resolution pictures. As compare to Deskjet printers, Dotmatrix are costly but long lasting.
