Free Vista driver for HP Scanjet 2300c scanner

I am looking for free Vista driver for my HP Scanjet 2300c scanner on my laptop. I went for this on the official HP website but it's a bit confusing and on other sites I must pay for that (I also did a test with the reception of a code via the laptop, it did not work). I am therefore delighted to get it from any of member here.

But make sure that there is a difference between 32 bit and 64 bit. It is up to you what you have.

Note: Please remember to click on the link "Automatically check to see if the latest driver is installed correctly" to check if the driver was correctly installed.

Thank you for the info. So I accessed the site that you have specified. It gave me as a driver to install "setup basic 2300". I ran the program but ultimately it told me afterwards that "the installation wizard did not updated any software installed for my devices because no newer version is available". I am really confused now.

If you plugged in the scanner before the driver was installed then Vista is attempting to put a generic ... try plugging in another USB port (especially after having installed the Vista drivers) and then you must remove the USB in "hardware" (here I am in XP, I do not know how it is for Vista) and I think everything will return to normal ...
