SCSI driver issue in Windows 7

    Hi,
I was trying to install Windows 7 on a scuzzy (SCSI) hard disk through Adapted 29160 controller. But the installation does not proceed at all. I am performing a clean install but even after that the operating system does not get the hard disk. I need some solutions here. What should be done to fix this. Where can I download SCSI drivers for Windows 7. Thanks.

Microsoft has not yet released a SCSI drivers for Windows 7. So you have to wait more for the same. In much cases Windows 7 and Windows Vista remains unstable on SCSI drivers. You can try to contact the hard drive manufacturer for this problem. The fault does not lies with the hard disk here, it lies in Windows 7 due to absence of drivers in it.

Go to the official site of Adaptec. Here you can get some relevant information on your work. It is possible that you controller has issue with the drive. That means a hardware fault. Or else try BusLogic controller for your Windows 7 computer. This really works in my case when I was facing Ntldr missing error during installation.

SCSI drives have a built in controller. This is controller allows a low level format to the drive. Under such conditions the hard drive is useful. The most popular SCSI controller manufacturers is Adaptec. The one you are using. If the installation does not work in your system then most probably the problem lies with the controller. Other than this you can also try a controller from Tekram Technology.

Adaptec 29160 has no drivers for windows 7 and Adaptec has no plan to make drivers for it. I suggest you purchase a 39320 PCI board to replace it. Adaptec 39320 has drivers with Windows 7

Download drivers for windows vista instead. Windows Vista and Windows 7 are built on the same OS architecture so the Vista drivers will do the trick...

I just got the nvidia drivers last night and they seem to work very well with Windows 7 RC. Very stable system so far. To install a driver using Compatibility Mode, right click on the Setup Application Stub (usually titled Setup.exe or whatever program you are opening to install the driver) and click on Properties, and then click on the Compatibility tab, enable Compatibility Mode and select “Windows Vista RTM” from the drop down list, then click on OK and try again.
